Your Southwest Getaway
Nestled in the Animas Valley of Durango Colorado, Ravens Roost Rental offers a unique blend of Southwestern charm and modern comfort. It is a perfect retreat for travelers seeking an authentic experience, with easy access to the area's iconic attractions and natural beauty.

History of the Land
Ravens Roost Rental is located on a 5-acre historic homestead just north of Durango and hosts an original mule barn that is a centerpiece at Raven. The homestead was originally part of an extensive ranch in the southern end of the Animas River Valley. It was caretaken for over 40 years by a couple who loved the trees and all the Nature co-habitating the property before it became Ravens Roost.

Now named Ravens Roost, the site is a portal to wild, sacred and magical spaces. Bounded on the east by BLM land linked to Missionary Ridge cliffs and wilderness, Raven is a unique bridge between the town, the river, the farmlands and the mountains. It is also a home and pathway for all realms of regional wildlife and birds, as well as rocks, plants and trees of all shapes, sizes and colors.

The natural environs of Raven imbue the property with a palpable sense of peace and serenity. And the extensive lands, with the multiplicity of mini-biomes throughout, provide a multitude of settings for visitors and residents to connect deeply with Mother Nature and their own innate elemental wisdom, while only being a few miles from the Durango downtown and North Main districts.

Since becoming the most recent resident steward of Raven in March 2020, Cindy has worked with these energies to co-create a sanctuary for people, plants, animals and all other natural elements to creatively live in harmony and with joyful whimsy.
She also acknowledges with respectful mindfulness the long and vibrant lineage of people and beings who made this place their sacred space throughout the ages, including the Nuuchiu (Ute) people, the Jicarilla Apache (Apache), the Ancestral Pueblo peoples and their living descendants, the Pueblos of New Mexico and the Hopi Sinom (Hopi), and Diné (Navajo) Nations.

Raven and Cindy welcome you to Ravens Roost Rental, and hope that your time here will be just what you were looking for.
